VDDB provides project control services. For some clients we provide the full project office function, including procedures, procurement, contract administration, policies and general project execution co-ordination.
Successful control of projects is part science, part art, but most of all the ability to manage data and information such that it forms visible patterns and is shaped to become usable for decision-making. Information management is therefore a key concept in our thinking and to us, a normal way of working. Using saamwerk to enable us in the cloud, we service projects anywhere with ease and efficiency. Utilising the cloud, and integrated communications such as Lync, these are not add-ons, but is how we work.
It is not the big do-it-all so called system that enables data to become useful information, but rather the ability to use the powerful tools that are available; and without losing sight of common sense and the vast information handling experience of centuries. Manual is not a swear word, nor is pen and paper, but as we travel in sophisticated motorised vehicles today, and use smartphones and have many other things of technological tooling at our disposal, the powerful information and communication tools must be used.

Our project cost management embraces cost structuring, quantity surveying, cost accounting, budget management, change management, contingency application and everything necessary to maintain a project cost ledger, and we offer capital as well as financial accounting services: clients use as much of the service width as required – the large corporate has its own financial accounting well controlled, and need only the project cost accounting, whilst newer mining companies make use of the total service, running on the platform provided as part of the services up to the point where it seamlessly goes into operational mode, with the systems having glided into place as part of the project service.

Services are delivered to a variety of projects for mining and industrial client and range from performing a particular task such as providing a bill of quantities to taking charge of a comprehensive project structuring, capital estimating, procurement and contract planning, programming and scheduling and project cost management, time management, procurement and all services through to final accounts and close-out.
